Patients with insurance

If you have dental benefits and the freedom to choose any doctor, your insurance may help cover a portion of your treatment at our office. During your visit, we will provide you with an estimate of the insurance portion of your financial responsibility. As a courtesy, we will file a claim on your behalf with your primary insurance company. By signing this agreement you authorize Austin Dental to receive payment from your insurance company. Some companies pay the patient directly. We will inform you, to the best of our knowledge, if your insurance company handles payments in this manner. If they do, you will be responsible for the full amount at the time of service.

If you have a specific question about insurance coverage for services, please call the number located on your dental insurance card and one of your insurance company representatives will be happy to answer your questions. Your HR department should also be acquainted with your dental benefits package. We believe it is important that you are familiar with the benefits you are entitled to.

Most insurance claims are paid in 2-4 weeks. Occasionally, we might ask you to contact your insurance company if your claim is not paid after 45 days. After 60 days, we may contact you to pay the balance remaining on any unpaid claims. In the event the insurance company pays less than anticipated or denies your claim, you will be notified via call, letter or email detailing the remaining balance you are responsible for. It is important that you call us with any dental insurance changes or change of employer prior to your appointment as the verification of benefits typically takes 24-48 business hours. If we cannot verify your insurance coverage before your appointment time you may be responsible for full payment at the time of service. Any amount owed back to you will be refunded after your claim is processed through your insurance company.

Patients without Insurance

Payment in full is expected at the time of treatment and some procedures may require a deposit before the treatment date.

Broken Appointment Policy

We understand that life happens and we try very hard to work with each patient’s need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Repeated broken appointments negatively affect your doctor and dental team who have committed this valuable time to you. For this reason, we require a 24-hour notice of appointment cancellation/rescheduling before all appointment times. We also require a 10% deposit to secure any appointment of $1000 or more. If you cancel/reschedule your appointment within the 24 hour cancellation period your deposit will be non-refundable.

If you must cancel/reschedule within our 24-hour policy, a $50 non-refundable reservation fee will be required to secure any future appointments. This reservation fee will be applied to any treatment done at the time of service of the reserved appointment.

Repeated abuse of our cancellation policy may result in dismissal from our office.

Our Schedulers are available:

Monday – Thursday: 7am – 1pm, 2pm – 5pm
Friday: 7am – 1pm

Returned Checks

A $35 fee will be added to your account balance for any returned checks.
